About BoilerFaultCodes.com
Last reviewed
BoilerFaultCodes.com is a free, independent reference site for UK boiler fault codes. We explain what each fault code means in plain English, whether you can fix it yourself safely, what a typical repair costs, and when you need to call a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Every code is sourced from official manufacturer service or installation manuals and cross-checked before publication. We currently cover 33,565 fault codes across 750 boiler models from 29 UK manufacturers.
Why we built this
When a boiler shows a fault code, most homeowners face the same problem: manufacturer documentation is scattered, written for engineers, and buried inside 80-page PDFs. Forum threads are unreliable. Generic "boiler help" sites copy each other and rarely cite a source.
We built BoilerFaultCodes.com to be the resource we wished existed: every fault code, every UK brand, in one place — written so a homeowner can understand it, but accurate enough that an engineer can rely on it.
Editorial team
Content is produced and reviewed by the BoilerFaultCodes Editorial Team. Our editorial process is described in detail on the Editorial Standards page, and our sourcing methodology is documented at How We Source Fault Codes.
We are not affiliated with any boiler manufacturer. We do not sell boilers, parts, or repair services. Our editorial content is independent.
How the site is funded
The site is free to use and free of paywalls. We earn revenue through:
- Affiliate links for boiler cover and replacement quote services. We only recommend providers we'd use ourselves. Affiliate income never influences editorial content — DIY-safe codes are still flagged DIY-safe even when a paid alternative would earn us more.
- Display advertising via Google AdSense (when active). Ads are clearly labelled.
We disclose all affiliate relationships in the footer of every page and we never accept paid placement of fault code information.
Safety policy
Gas work in the UK is regulated. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer may legally carry out work on gas-burning appliances. Where a fault is gas-related or potentially dangerous, we mark it clearly as engineer-required and do not provide DIY instructions.
If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency service on 0800 111 999 (24/7).
