Orange light (Boiler fault)

Your boiler has stopped working for safety reasons and needs a manual reset to attempt to fire up again.

What to check first

  1. Locate the reset button on the control panel behind the front flap
  2. Press and hold the reset button for at least five seconds
  3. Wait for the orange light to turn off and the boiler to attempt to reignite

10 Status Your boiler is simply indicating that it has successfully detected electrical power and is ready to operate. 11 Status Your boiler is currently operating normally to provide hot water to your taps and shower. 12 Status Your boiler has detected an issue with the central heating system's operation, causing it to shut down for safety. 13 Status Your boiler is operating exactly as it should and is currently burning gas to heat your home or water. Orange light (first) Status Your boiler is receiving a constant electrical signal even when it should be off, often caused by a faulty external control or internal wiring issue. Orange light (second) Status Your boiler has detected power coming from the thermostat while the main power is also on, which usually means an internal electrical component has failed or stuck. Orange light (single) Status Your back boiler is receiving a permanent power signal, which usually means the external controls or the internal wiring are telling it to run even when it shouldn't. Orange light (third) Status Your boiler is attempting to light the main burner but the gas is failing to ignite, causing it to spark continuously without firing up. Second orange light Status Your boiler has detected an electrical conflict where it is being told to turn on and stay on at the same time, usually due to a wiring or control fault. Third orange light Status Your boiler is trying to light but the main burner is failing to catch fire, even though the ignition spark is clicking.
