Your boiler has detected that water is not moving through the system correctly, which causes it to shut down to prevent overheating.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Circulation error
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensors detect that water is heating up too quickly because it isn't being moved away from the burner fast enough. The most common reason is a seized or failing pump, though it can also be caused by a build-up of air or debris physically blocking the water's path through the heat exchanger.
This issue often surfaces in autumn when the heating is turned back on for the first time, as pump components can seize up after sitting idle during the summer months.
DIY fix possible
Check that all radiator valves are fully openEnsure the boiler pressure is between 1.0 and 1.5 barBleed all radiators to remove trapped air from the system
