Burner Lockout

Your boiler has stopped itself from running due to an internal safety concern, meaning it will not produce heat or hot water until the ignition system is reset or repaired.

High DIY-safe £120-250

What to check first

  1. Check your oil tank to ensure there is sufficient fuel and the supply valve is open.
  2. Press the reset button on the burner control box once only.
  3. If the burner sounds like it is trying to start but fails, check if your oil filter is clogged or requires bleeding.

Parts commonly replaced

  • Photocell
  • Ignition electrodes
  • Oil pump solenoid
  • Control box

Avoid the next call-out bill
