This light is part of the boiler's normal starting process and shows it is currently trying to light the burner.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: Flashes to indicate ignition operation (stops after detection)
What causes this fault?
This indicator light reflects the natural sequence of the boiler attempting to create a flame within the burner. It appears when the internal controls have confirmed the fan is running and the air pressure is correct, signaling the spark electrode to begin firing. Once a steady flame is detected by the sensors, the light will turn off as the boiler enters its normal heating mode.
DIY fix possible
Wait for the light to stop flashing once the boiler has successfully fired upIf the light keeps flashing and the boiler fails to light, try turning the control knob to 'Off' and back to 'On' to reset it
