Technical description: Inverter Error

What causes the Ideal LC7 fault?

This fault occurs when the brain of the heat pump loses touch with the power unit that drives the compressor. The most common reason is a failure in the electrical circuits or loose wiring connections, preventing the system from drawing the power it needs to generate heat. Essentially, the internal components can no longer talk to each other to coordinate the heating process.

This fault may appear more frequently during peak winter months when the inverter is under high load to maintain home temperatures in freezing conditions.

Typical repair cost £450-950 (including labour)
