Ideal LCE Fault Code
The Ideal LCE fault code means: your heat pump has stopped working because the internal power system has detected an electrical surge or overload.. It appears on 1 Ideal model in our database.
Technical description: Inverter High Current
What causes the Ideal LCE fault?
This fault occurs when the heat pump's internal electrical controller detects an unsafe surge in electricity flowing to the motor. The most common reasons are a sudden electrical spike during a storm or a mechanical failure within the compressor that makes it too difficult to turn. It acts like a safety fuse, shutting the system down to prevent permanent damage to the expensive internal components.
This fault is slightly more common during the winter months when the heat pump is working at its highest capacity to keep the home warm, putting more strain on the electrical inverter.
