What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer brain loses its electrical supply or suffers a terminal hardware failure. It is typically caused by a blown fuse on the control board or a malfunction within the main circuit board that prevents power from reaching the screen. Because the display is dark and the controls are unresponsive, the system cannot process any requests for heating.

This fault is often seen following summer storms or winter power surges, as electrical spikes can easily blow the sensitive fuses or damage the circuit board.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
