What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's control board detects that the fan isn't spinning at the correct speed to safely expel exhaust gases. The most common reason is the fan motor seizing up due to wear and tear, though it can also be caused by loose electrical connections or a failing control board that is no longer sending power to the fan.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
