What causes this fault?

This light activates because the boiler's control box has sent a signal to create a spark and open the gas valve. It is a natural part of the start-up sequence and simply shows the system is working to establish a flame. Once the internal sensors detect that the burner is safely lit, the light will turn off automatically.
