Your boiler thinks a flame is present even though it hasn't been told to light, causing the system to shut down for safety.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: False flame
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's sensors detect a flame signal at a time when the burner should be switched off. It is usually caused by a dirty or damaged sensing electrode sending an incorrect electrical signal, or a gas valve that is failing to close fully and allowing a small amount of fuel to leak through. In some cases, the main control board may be misinterpreting these signals due to an internal electrical fault.
