What causes the Potterton PUMP FEED fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's computer sends a signal to start the pump, but detects that no electricity is actually reaching it. The most common reason is a malfunctioning main control board that can no longer switch power on, though it can also be caused by loose internal wiring or a pump that has short-circuited.

This issue often surfaces at the start of autumn when the heating is turned on for the first time after summer, as the pump can seize during long periods of inactivity.

Typical repair cost £180-£450 (including labour)
