Your boiler has detected that the temperature sensor for your radiators is faulty, meaning the system cannot safely monitor how hot the heating water is getting.
This fault should be looked at by a Gas Safe engineer within the next week or two. It may get worse if left.
Technical description: Fault on Central Heating Sensor
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the internal sensor responsible for monitoring your radiator water temperature fails or sends an incorrect electrical signal to the main control board. The most common reason is that the sensor has physically degraded over time or suffered from a small internal short circuit. Because the boiler no longer knows how hot the water is, it shuts down as a safety precaution to prevent overheating.
This fault often appears when the heating is first turned on in autumn, as the sensor is put under sudden thermal stress after sitting idle during the summer months.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
