What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the water inside the heat exchanger reaches an unsafe temperature, triggering a safety switch to kill the flame. The most common reasons are a pump failure that prevents water from moving, or a physical blockage like sludge that restricts flow through the system.
This issue often surfaces when the heating is first turned on after summer, as the internal pump can seize up during long periods of inactivity.
DIY fix possible
Turn the selector switch to the 'Reset' position and hold for 5 seconds, then turn it back to the 'On' position.Check that your radiator valves are open and not blocked by furniture.Ensure your system pressure gauge is between 1 and 1.5 bar; top up using the filling loop if it is too low.
