Your boiler has detected a problem with how it vents exhaust gases or with the internal fan, which means it has shut down for safety.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Fault on Fan or Flue
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal safety sensors detect that the fan isn't spinning at the right speed or that harmful exhaust gases aren't being cleared properly through the flue pipe. The most common reasons are a buildup of dirt on the fan blades, a blockage in the flue outside, or a failure in the electronic switch that monitors airflow.
This fault can sometimes be triggered during periods of very high winds, which can create back-pressure in the flue and interfere with the air pressure sensor.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
