Your boiler has detected that there is either not enough water in the system or the water is not moving around properly to keep the unit running.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: Fault on Pump or Low System Pressure
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensors detect that the water pressure has dropped too low to operate safely or the pump has failed to circulate the water. The most common reason is a simple loss of pressure due to a small leak or air in the system, but it can also be triggered if the pump is stuck or the pressure switch has become blocked with debris.
This issue often surfaces when the heating is first turned on in autumn, as pumps can seize up after being inactive over the summer months.
DIY fix possible
Check the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler; it should be between 1 and 1.5 bar.If the pressure is too low, use the filling loop valves under the boiler to top it up with water.Ensure all radiator valves are open and that the pump is not making unusual grinding noises.
