Your boiler is unable to send power to the water pump, which means it cannot circulate heat around your home and has shut down for safety.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: No 230V P/F to N at any time in a period of 4 minutes.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's computer sends a signal to start the pump, but detects that no electricity is actually reaching it. The most common reason is a malfunctioning main control board that can no longer switch power on, though it can also be caused by loose internal wiring or a pump that has short-circuited.
This issue often surfaces at the start of autumn when the heating is turned on for the first time after summer, as the pump can seize during long periods of inactivity.
Engineer required
This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
