The 6 most common faults
Your boiler has detected that there is not enough water pressure or flow to operate safely.
Check the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler; it should be between 1 and 1.5 bar.If the pressure is too low, use the filling loop to top up the water level.Reset the boiler once the correct pressure is reached.
Your boiler has switched itself off because it has reached a temperature that is too high, often caused by a circulation problem or a faulty safety sensor.
Identify if your radiator valves are closed and open them fullyCheck your boiler pressure gauge and top up to 1.5 bar if it is too lowPress the 'Reset' button on the control panel to see if the fault clears
Your boiler has stopped working because it has detected an incorrect temperature reading and needs to be restarted.
Locate the reset button or dial on the front control panelPress and hold the reset button for five secondsWait for the boiler to complete its start-up sequence
Your boiler has detected that the water pressure in the system is too low to run safely.
Locate the filling loop (usually a silver flexible hose) underneath the boiler.Open the one or two valves on the hose slowly until you hear water moving.Watch the pressure gauge and close the valves once it reaches between 1 and 1.5 bar.
Your boiler has shut down because it has reached an unsafe temperature and needs to cool down before it can operate again.
Check that all radiator valves are fully open to allow water to circulate.Ensure there is enough water pressure in the system by checking the pressure gauge.Wait for the boiler to cool down and try pressing the reset button.
Your boiler’s internal computer has encountered a glitch or a programming fault that is preventing it from running properly.
Locate the reset button or dial on the front control panelPress and hold the reset button for 5 secondsWait for the boiler to restart and check if the error code clears
on the Ravenheat 100
Based on parts cited in our fault code database. Your engineer will confirm what's actually needed after diagnosis.
Call a Gas Safe engineer if…
- You can smell gas or see signs of a leak
- The Ravenheat shows an Emergency or High severity code
- The boiler keeps locking out after repeated resets
- You've tried the DIY checks and the fault hasn't cleared
- There's visible water leaking from the boiler
- The flame is yellow or orange instead of blue
