Your boiler has temporarily paused because the water inside has reached its maximum set temperature and is waiting for it to cool down before restarting.
This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.
Technical description: A control stop and will appear if the measured flow temperature (t1) is higher than the flow temperature set (T flow). The boiler will start working again automatically once the flow temperature falls below the flow temperature set.
What causes this fault?
This status occurs when the water inside the boiler heats up faster than it can be circulated away into your radiators or hot water cylinder. It is often caused by the boiler being more powerful than the current demand, or by a restriction like a failing pump or closed radiator valves that prevents the heat from escaping. The boiler pauses briefly to protect itself from overheating and will resume once the water has cooled to a safe level.
This is more common in spring and autumn when your heating is turned on but many radiator thermostatic valves are closed, reducing the flow of water.
DIY fix possible
Check that at least two radiators are turned on fully to allow heat to circulateEnsure the central heating pump is running and hasn't seizedVerify that the radiator valves (TRVs) are not all turned to the off position
