Technical description
False flame signal
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensors detect a flame after the combustion process should have finished or before it has even started. The most common reason is a contaminated or damaged detection probe that is sending a false electrical signal to the main control board, suggesting the gas is still burning. For safety, the boiler will immediately stop operating to prevent gas from flowing uncontrollably.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
