Technical description: Gas–valve control + defective | Cause: Short circuit/earth (ground) leak in cable loom to gas valves, gas valve assembly defective (earth/ground leak from coils), electronic control system defective

What causes the Vaillant F.60 fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects an electrical failure or a 'leak' of electricity within the components that regulate gas flow. The most common reason is that the electromagnetic coils inside the gas valve have worn out or developed a short circuit, preventing the system from opening the valve safely. It can also be caused by damaged wiring or a fault on the main control board itself, which stops the signals from reaching the valve.

Typical repair cost £180-£450 (including labour)
