Your boiler's computer memory has suffered a technical glitch, meaning it can no longer remember its own settings and cannot operate.
Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24–48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.
Technical description: EEPROM error
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal memory chip, which stores critical operating data, becomes corrupted or suffers an electrical failure. The most common reason is a power surge or natural wear and tear of the electronic components on the main control board, which prevents the computer from reading its own instructions. Because the boiler no longer knows its safety limits or settings, it shuts down immediately to prevent unsafe operation.
