The 6 most common faults
Your boiler has failed to light the gas burner or stay lit, causing it to shut down for safety.
Check that your gas supply is turned on and other gas appliances are workingPress the 'Reset' button on the front control panelWait 2 minutes to see if the boiler restarts normally
Your boiler has shut down because it has detected it is getting too hot, triggering a safety switch to prevent damage.
Check that your radiator valves are fully openEnsure there is enough water pressure in the system (usually between 1 and 1.5 bar)Turn the boiler off and on again to see if the fault clears after it has cooled down
Your boiler has detected that the water pressure is either too low or too high, or the sensor that measures it is not working correctly.
Check the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler; it should be between 1 and 1.5 bar.If the pressure is below 1 bar, use the filling loop underneath the boiler to carefully top it up.If the pressure is already correct, try resetting the boiler to clear a temporary sensor glitch.
Your boiler has detected that the water pressure is too low for it to operate safely, though it may currently be treating this as a temporary issue.
Check the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler; it should be between 1 and 1.5 bar.Locate the filling loop (usually two blue-handled valves below the boiler) and open them slightly to top up the system.Close the valves once the gauge reaches 1.2 bar and restart the boiler.
Your boiler has detected a blockage in the flue pipe or an issue with how exhaust gases are being cleared, causing it to shut down for safety.
Check the external flue pipe on the outside of your property for any obstructions like bird nests, leaves, or debris. If it is winter, check if the flue outlet is blocked by heavy snow or ice.Clear any visible external blockages and try resetting the boiler using the control knob.
Your boiler detects a flame when there shouldn't be one, which is a safety mechanism that stops the unit from operating.

- You can smell gas or see signs of a leak
- The Vokera shows an Emergency or High severity code
- The boiler keeps locking out after repeated resets
- You've tried the DIY checks and the fault hasn't cleared
