This boiler uses LED flash patterns

Count the flashes in one repeating group before the pause. That number is your fault code. Do not reset until you have noted it. How to read fault codes →

Blocked condensate pipework

Your boiler has switched itself off because the waste water pipe that carries away condensation is blocked or frozen, causing water to back up inside the unit.

High DIY-safe £80-160

What to check first

  1. Locate the plastic pipe leading from the boiler to an outside drain.
  2. Check for any visible ice if the weather is freezing and gently thaw the pipe using a hot water bottle or warm (not boiling) water.
  3. Inspect the internal syphon trap under the boiler for any debris and carefully clear it if accessible.
  4. Reset the boiler once the blockage has been cleared.

Parts commonly replaced

  • Condensate Syphon Trap
  • External Condensate Pipework
  • Trace Heating Cable (optional preventative)
