Technical description: Boiler in anti-cycle mode
What causes the Worcester Bosch 202 fault?
This occurs when your boiler reaches its target temperature too quickly and enters a protective rest period to avoid 'short-cycling'. It usually happens because the heat produced by the boiler cannot be moved away fast enough, often due to radiators being turned off or a highly efficient home needing very little energy. The boiler stays off for a few minutes to protect its internal parts from the mechanical stress of constant restarting.
This is more common during the milder months of spring and autumn when your home requires only a small amount of heat to maintain its temperature.
DIY fix possible
Check that your room thermostat is set higher than the current room temperatureEnsure all radiator valves (TRVs) are turned open to allow heat to circulateWait up to 15 minutes for the anti-cycle timer to expire and the boiler to restart automatically
