What causes this fault?
This code occurs when the boiler has been operating for a full 24 hours without a break, usually due to a high demand for heating or a thermostat set to a very high temperature. To ensure long-term reliability and safety, the system briefly stops the burner and fan to perform a mandatory internal self-test. Once the quick diagnostic check is complete, the boiler will automatically resume normal operation.
This code is more common during extreme winter cold snaps when the heating stays on around the clock to maintain the temperature in the home.
DIY fix possible
Wait for several minutes as the boiler usually restarts itself automatically after the safety check.If the code persists, turn the power to the boiler off and back on again to reset the timer.Ensure your thermostat is not set to an unusually high temperature that prevents the boiler from ever reaching its target.
