Boiler identification module or boiler electronics faulty
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's central brain loses communication with a specialized memory chip that tells the unit exactly which model and power setting it should be using. The most common reason is a physical connection failure between these internal components or a memory error caused by a power surge or aging electronics.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
