What causes the Alpha 0A8 fault?

This fault happens when the boiler's internal computer is unable to confirm that a flame has successfully lit inside the burner. The most common reasons are a worn-out sensor that can no longer 'see' the flame or a failure in the electrical circuit that sends this signal to the main control board.
