High Lockout
E.01 – .04 on Baxi 200 Combi (range)

Your boiler is struggling to keep its flame lit and has safely shut down after repeatedly failing to stay on.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24 to 48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description

Loss of flame detected 5 times in 24 hours (with burner on).

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler’s control system detects that the flame has gone out unexpectedly five times within a 24-hour period. It is usually caused by a component failing to accurately sense the flame, a blockage in the drainage system, or an inconsistent flow of gas prevented the burner from staying lit.

This fault is more frequent during freezing winter spells, as a frozen external condensate pipe can cause water to back up into the boiler and extinguish the flame.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
