Low Information
Neon SG1 on Ideal Classic FF

This light simply shows that your boiler is trying to light itself, which is a normal part of its startup sequence.

Monitor it

This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.

Technical description

Flashes to indicate ignition operation (stops after detection)

What causes this fault?

This indicator is triggered when the boiler's control box sends a high-voltage spark to the burner to start the heating process. It is a normal function that occurs every time the boiler fires up and should disappear as soon as a flame is detected. If the light continues to flash without the boiler firing, it usually means the gas is not igniting or the sensor cannot see the flame.
