Ideal 83 Fault Code
The Ideal 83 fault code means: your boiler is receiving power but cannot ignite because it isn't detecting the correct gas pressure required to start the burner.. It appears on 2 Ideal models in our database.
Technical description: Power to PCB 41 but burner pressure incorrect or zero
What causes the Ideal 83 fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer tries to start the heating process but detects that the gas isn't reaching the burner at the correct strength. It is usually triggered by a mechanical failure in the gas valve or a communication error where the control board fails to send the right signals. In some cases, a faulty fan or an external blockage can also prevent the system from reaching the necessary pressure to ignite safely.
This issue can be more frequent during the first cold snap of winter when gas valves that have been idle over summer seize up or external regulators struggle with the increased demand.
