Technical description: Fault on Temperature Sensor

What causes the Potterton Neon8 fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's main control board stops receiving a consistent or accurate signal from the internal temperature sensor. The most common reason is that the sensor has physically failed or developed a short circuit, meaning the boiler can no longer safely monitor how hot the water is. In some cases, loose or damaged wiring between the sensor and the brain of the boiler can also trigger this shutdown.
