Technical description
Combustion test alarm during auto-setting
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler’s internal computer fails to calibrate the correct mix of gas and air needed for a healthy flame. It is usually triggered because the components responsible for creating the spark or monitoring the fire, such as the electrodes or gas valve, are worn out or dirty. When the system cannot find a safe setting to operate efficiently, it shuts down as a safety precaution.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
