Technical description: failing or unstable flame of pilot burner

What causes the Remeha red zone fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's control system cannot detect a steady flame at the pilot burner during the ignition sequence. The most common reasons are a worn-out sensor that can no longer 'see' the flame or a buildup of carbon and debris on the burner that prevents a clean, stable light-off.

Typical repair cost £180-450 (including labour)
