The 6 most common faults
Your boiler has switched itself off because the water pressure inside the system has dropped too low to operate safely.
Locate the filling loop, which is a silver braided hose usually found underneath the boiler.Open the valves at both ends of the hose to allow mains water to enter the system.Watch the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler until the needle reaches the green zone, typically between 1 and 1.5 bar.Close both valves tightly and remove the filling loop if it is a detachable type.
Your boiler has detected that the water pressure inside the system has risen too high, causing it to shut down for safety.
Locate the external filling loop, which is usually a silver braided hose with one or two valves located underneath the boiler.Ensure both valves are turned completely off, as a passing valve can cause the pressure to creep up over time.If the pressure remains high, bleed a radiator in your home to drain a small amount of water until the pressure gauge returns to the green zone (usually 1 - 1.5 bar).
Your boiler has stopped working because the water pressure inside the heating system has dropped too low.
Locate the blue filling loop tap found underneath the boiler unit.Slowly turn the blue tap anti-clockwise to let water enter the system.Watch the pressure gauge on the front of the boiler until it reaches 1.5 bar, then turn the tap firmly off.
Your boiler has failed to light the flame, which means it currently cannot produce any heating or hot water.
