Technical description
restart ignition
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system senses that a flame has not been successfully established or maintained after several attempts. The most common reasons are a lack of gas reaching the burner, worn-out spark electrodes that can no longer ignite the fuel, or a faulty sensor that fails to 'see' the flame even when it is lit.
This fault can be more common during extreme cold snaps if the external gas regulator or meter freezes, restricting the flow of gas to the appliance.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
