What causes the Worcester Bosch EA269 fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler attempts to start up but cannot confirm that a stable flame has been established within the required safety timeframe. It is usually caused by worn-out spark electrodes that can no longer ignite the gas or a dirty sensor that fails to detect the heat once the burner is lit. Occasionally, an issue with the gas supply or a faulty internal valve prevents the fuel from reaching the burner correctly.

This fault is frequently seen during the first cold snap of autumn when a boiler that has been idle all summer is suddenly forced to work at high capacity.

Typical repair cost £120-350 (including labour)
