What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's central brain suffers a software glitch or a hardware failure, preventing it from reading its own internal configuration. It is most commonly caused by an electrical data error between the main control board and the unique identification plug that tells the boiler exactly which model it is.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
