The Alpha F8 fault code means: your boiler is currently running an automated 18-hour maintenance cycle to remove trapped air bubbles from your heating system, and you should simply wait for this process to complete.. It appears on 4 Alpha models in our database.

Monitor it

This is a minor fault. Keep an eye on it and mention it at your next annual boiler service. Reset the boiler and see if it clears.

Technical description: System deaeration in progress. During this phase, which lasts 18 hours, the boiler pump is started at pre-established intervals, thus allowing deaeration of the central heating system.

Engineer required

This fault requires a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
