High Lockout
E128 on Baxi 600 Combi (range)

Your boiler is struggling to keep its burner lit and has shut down after multiple failed attempts to maintain a flame.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24 to 48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description

Frequent flame failure (12 times).

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects that the flame is repeatedly flickering or cutting out shortly after ignition. It is usually caused by a dirty or worn sensing probe that can no longer 'see' the flame, or a fluctuating gas supply that prevent the burner from staying lit. After twelve unsuccessful attempts to maintain a steady flame, the boiler shuts down as a safety precaution.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
