Technical description
Flame Failure & Fault Indicator Neon
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system attempts to ignite the burner but fails to detect a steady flame after several attempts. The most common reasons include a lack of gas reaching the unit, worn-out ignition sparks, or a dirty sensor that can no longer 'see' the flame even if it has lit.
This fault is more common in winter, as high demand on the gas network can cause pressure drops or moisture can freeze in the external gas meter regulator.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
