Your boiler has lost contact with the sensor that measures the temperature of your hot water tank, so it can't properly control your hot water, though your heating should still work.
What to check first
- Switch the boiler off at its on/off switch and wait about 30 seconds, then switch it back on to see if the fault clears.
- Check the sensor lead is firmly plugged in at the boiler and at the cylinder sensor, without pulling or forcing any connection.
- If the fault returns, leave the boiler off or on heating-only mode and book a Gas Safe registered engineer to test and replace the sensor.
Parts commonly replaced
- Cylinder temperature sensor (DHW sensor)
- Sensor cable or lead harness
