Technical description
Air fault, pressure switch, no power to fan
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's safety system detects that the fan isn't spinning fast enough to move exhaust gases out of the flue. It is often caused by a mechanical failure in the fan motor itself or a blockage in the small plastic tubes that connect to the air pressure switch. Without the fan functioning correctly, the boiler cannot safely light the flame and will shut down as a precaution.
This fault can occur more frequently during periods of high wind, as strong gusts can create back-pressure in the flue that prevents the air pressure switch from making a correct reading.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
