High Lockout
F7 on Worcester Bosch Greenstar 25Si

Your boiler thinks it can see a flame inside the system even though the heating is turned off, causing it to stop working for safety reasons.

Call an engineer soon

Book a Gas Safe engineer within 24 to 48 hours. Your boiler may be unsafe or could break down completely if left.

Technical description

Flame detected when it should not be present

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensor mistakenly detects heat or an electrical signal that mimics a flame after the burner has been told to shut off. The most common reason is a carbon buildup or moisture on the sensing electrode, though it can also be caused by a flickering electrical fault on the main control board.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
