Technical description
Flame detected when it should not be present
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal sensor mistakenly detects heat or an electrical signal that mimics a flame after the burner has been told to shut off. The most common reason is a carbon buildup or moisture on the sensing electrode, though it can also be caused by a flickering electrical fault on the main control board.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
