Technical description
Electronic control board fault
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler’s internal electronic brain suffers a communication failure or hardware breakdown. The most common reason is age-related wear on the circuit board's components or a sudden electrical surge that has damaged the delicate pathways required to manage the heating cycle.
This fault is slightly more common during winter when the boiler is working at maximum capacity, as the increased heat and constant cycling can cause aging electronic components to finally fail.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
