Technical description
Waiting period because of fan speed deviation
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's control system detects that the internal fan is spinning too slowly or too quickly compared to the speed required for safe operation. The most common reason is a mechanical failure within the fan motor or a software communication error from the main circuit board that prevents the fan from reaching the correct RPM.
This fault is slightly more common in winter as cold, damp air can cause older fan bearings to seize or electrical components to struggle during the initial start-up phase.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
