Technical description
Gas valve fault.
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's internal computer detects a communication error or mechanical failure within the gas valve. The most common reason is that the valve is unable to open or close properly to regulate the fuel flow, leading the system to shut down for safety. In some cases, a faulty ignition lead or a failing control board can also send incorrect signals, mimicking a valve failure.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
