What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the boiler's control system detects that the fan isn't reaching the necessary speed to safely extract waste gases. The most common reasons are a buildup of dirt on the fan blades, a blockage in the air pipes, or an electrical failure where the circuit board is unable to send power to the fan motor.

This fault is slightly more common in autumn and winter, as debris like fallen leaves can occasionally be sucked into the external flue, obstructing the air intake.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
