Technical description
Internal fault (PCB)
What causes this fault?
This fault occurs when the boiler's main control board suffers a hardware failure, effectively becoming the 'brain' that can no longer process instructions. The most common reason is an electrical short-circuit or component degradation on the circuit board itself, which prevents the boiler from completing its safety checks.
This fault is more frequent following summer storms or during the first cold snap of winter, as power surges from lightning or heavy electrical demand can trip sensitive electronic components.
Engineer required
This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
