Technical description

Inverter Error

What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the heat pump's main control centre loses the ability to talk to the power component that manages the compressor. The most common reason is a hardware failure within the inverter circuit board or a loose connection in the wiring that links these two systems together. Because the unit cannot safely regulate its power usage, it shuts down to prevent electrical damage.

This fault can be more frequent during summer heatwaves or periods of heavy usage, as the sensitive electronic inverter components are susceptible to overheating when worked hard in high ambient temperatures.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
